Knox's First Birthday

Our baby boy is one year old today!

Knox wasn't in the mood for a photoshoot; he wanted to read his Bible instead. I was slightly disappointed, until I realized that I should be grateful that he already has his priorities in line!

After running several errands, we made our way towards Memphis to go meet Knox's newest cousin, Chase Rylan Gapen. We tried to make it in time for Chase's birth, but Aunt Erin refused to wait on us so we were a little late. The birthday boy napped on the way, so he was refreshed and ready to go when we arrived.

We are so excited that Knox and Chase share the same birthday. Knox was really sweet towards Baby Chase today. Although they are cousins, I pray they will be best friends one day, too.

Knox was really good while we were at the hospital. Once Aunt Erin was moved to another room, Knox had the best time! He climbed on the couch, played with the knobs on the windows, and pulled out the drawers on a table by the bed.

Knox still seems to really love Uncle Chris. It didn't take him long to figure out he also really loves Uncle Chris's cool phone! A few dog videos later, Knox was hooked!

We left the hospital and headed home to see Daddy and Peyton. Knox took a great nap traveling home, too. Daddy and Peyton sang to him as soon as we walked in. Daddy had cooked us supper, so we ate shortly thereafter. Knox's favorite part of the meal was the dessert. We sang Happy Birthday to him, and he ate his very own "1" cookie! Poppy came over to visit for a while, and after showing off his almost-but-not-quite-there-yet walking skills, Little Man finally went to bed around 9:30.
We're looking forward to eating cake celebrating again at his birthday party this Saturday!
