20 weeks old

Knox is 20 weeks old today!
He WANTS to be very independent - he wants to sit up, stand, and hold his own bottle. When it's time to eat, I show him the bottle, he reaches with both hands, opens wide, and puts the bottle in his mouth. I'm so proud of him. He's just too smart!
He really likes to *feel* everything. He'll touch your face, hold your fingers, and try to get the writing off your shirt.
He still has his sweet bubbly personality, but at the same time, he's still very laid back and relaxed. And most of all, he's still a complete joy!

Knox finally got to meet Grandmother Gapen last Sunday! We stopped by her house to visit with her on our way home from Florida. It was so nice getting to see her.

Daddy turned 36 years old Monday, so Knox made Daddy a birthday card. That was quite an experience for me, but the end result was worth it all.
Isn't it beautiful?! Knox did it ALL by himself.

Nana and Grandaddy had a birthday supper for Daddy, and after we ate, Knox swang a little while. He was such a big boy sitting up in the swing. He did very good, and he seemed to enjoy it, especially after he got used to it!

First Vacation - Destin, Florida

We went on our first vacation with Knox last week. We stayed in Destin, Florida and spent a little time in Ft. Walton Beach. We left on Tuesday night when Knox fell asleep. He was a PERFECT rider - he slept the whole time! He woke up and had breakfast with us, but he was asleep again when we took him to the beach for the first time in Ft. Walton Beach.

First time in ocean water
We went really early in the morning because it was so hot during the day. Knox loved digging his toes in the sand, but he did not like the cold ocean water on his legs.

We had such a great time! We stayed in a condo with Pop, Nani, Lexi, Chris, Erin, and Reed. Knox had some trouble with his gums hurting, but overall he was a trooper. We came back on Sunday, and Knox was proud to be home. We're hoping to make this a family tradition.

18 1/2 week update

Knox is having a hard time with his gums hurting, but he's still doing great. It's just a challenge to get a good picture of him without his fingers, thumb, pacifier, or fist in his mouth.

Couldn't resist this one -

I taught Vacation Bible School this week at church, so Knox got to spend some quality time with Nana!
At Nana's, he fully mastered rolling over from his back to his tummy! He does such a good job with it, and we are so proud of him! He also grew a greater love for the television. They have a big screen, and I think he was in awe!
