Eight Months Old

Knox turned eight months old yesterday!

He is doing pretty good at communicating with us, to let us know what he wants or likes.

Examples:
~Eating breakfast this morning, he would turn his head if he did not want a bite of the fruit & cereal. After turning back, he would reach for the puffs or Cheerios.
~When he is ready for a nap, he will crawl over to me, start fussing, and pull up on my legs. I can usually pick him up, give him his pacifier, and he'll go straight to sleep.
~When he is sitting in a high chair, he kicks his feet when he REALLY likes something. It's as cute as can be, but he's never patient during these times.

Unfortunately for us, some of his favorite things are:
~cords, cords, and more cords. He can find a cord anywhere. Whether it's a computer charger, mouse cord, telephone line, baby monitor cord, or cord to Peyton's v-rocker, it makes no difference to Knox. He'll attempt to chew them all.
~the garbage can. He can crawl to it and turn it over in 0.297 seconds.
~cell phones, telephones, cameras, and remote controls. He has his own toy phone, camera, and remote, but he'd much rather chew on ours.
~jewelry. This one is painful, especially when he wants my earrings.

He has been working on some new teeth lately. Last week, you could see where one of his top teeth was coming in (actually broken the skin), but his gums are very swollen right now. He will not let you see or feel them unless you're brushing his teeth.

I try to let him go diaper-free every once in a while. (This started during the time we discovered he's allergic to Huggies diapers.) It's so funny watching him crawl around nude!

Check out my drool!

This is fun!
It's just about time for us to retire the beloved bath tub. But until we do, Knox sure is enjoying it.

Our chunky monkey is starting to slim up, but I love how the following picture shows his precious hands and feet. When he's teething, one of his favorite "toys" is a big spoon.

He gets a little too excited :)

Knox has been doing excellent with his sippy cups. He even drank some juice out of Nana's water bottle the other day. He thought he was big stuff!

Nana and Uncle Jack were teaching Knox how to play with the cool alphabet toy on their refrigerator. It didn't take them long to discover every thing goes in this boy's mouth!

This is cool!

After supper while Knox was still in his high chair, we got in front of him telling him our names. "Dada." "Moma." "Bubba." (We're using Bubba right now because Peyton is entirely too hard for Knox to say.) Of course I was stoked because all he would say was moma. (Hee hee!) When we finished, it was time for a bath. Daddy is super jealous, but Peyton agrees with me. Knox can say, "Bubba" now! (It sounds like it anyway, which counts in our books!)

We thought we better record him climbing the steps because he'll be walking up them before we know it.

Because Knox kept getting in to so many things he shouldn't, we decided it was time for some "new" toys. (new = some of Peyton's old toys) Knox's favorite of all is the car! He's actually too young for it, but he loves it!

Of course he later had to turn it on its side to check out how it works. Little boys love wheels!

Last time, it was snorting. This time it's squealing! I just wonder what's next...

Way to go Knox! When he got to the top step, Reed said "Uh oh, he's stuck!" Then he said, "He made it!"

Too cute! We love you!

Tina, he is too cute :)! I kept will in that same bath tub until he was 9 months old; he loved it though! He looks so big on his new toy! These babies are all growing way too fast.

I love the fact that Knox had to check out the wheels! Before long, he will be saying "Tar" and riding a four-wheeler while looking at the wheels!
